The Red River Railroad Museum illuminates the role of railroads in Denison and North Texas, past and present by collecting, preserving, studying, and interpreting objects, documents, and visual materials.

The Museum disseminates the history of the Missouri Kansas Texas (Katy) Railroad and the importance it played in the creation and growth of Denison, Texas.

A group of forward thinking individuals started the Museum in 1987 with collections being housed in the historic Katy Depot in Denison, Texas.

In early 2021 the Museum joined historic Main Street when it moved to 124 W. Main. The present structure was built in 1879, however records show business has been conducted here since 1872.
